Michael Urban, LCSW

With a career rooted in service and dedication, I bring over a decade of experience in the behavioral health and veteran care sectors. After serving four years in the 82nd Airborne Division, I transitioned to civilian life and earned my master’s in social work(MSW) from Widener University, becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My journey in the treatment field began as a Behavioral Health Technician, progressing through various roles to ultimately serve as an Executive Director.

For the past five years, I have specialized in veteran care, including four years as the National Director of Veterans/Military Clinical and Business Development at Banyan Treatment Centers. In this role, I developed tailored programming to meet veterans’ unique needs and established collaborative procedures with the VA. My efforts included spearheading facility expansions into Alaska and Colorado, ensuring access to essential services for underserved communities.

In addition to program development, I have spent the last three years working with organizations to identify innovative opportunities and integrate them into diverse communities. My mission is to bridge gaps in care, create impactful programs, and support organizations in delivering meaningful services to those who need them most.

With a strong foundation in healthcare and a deep passion for mental health advocacy, I bring a unique blend of operational experience, systems-based knowledge, and personal commitment to the behavioral health field. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and Health Informatics, with a minor in Sociology, from Oregon Tech. I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Grand Canyon University, with an expected graduation in Summer 2025.

I began my career in fast-paced hospital settings, including surgical and emergency departments, where I developed a deep understanding of systems-based care and patient advocacy. Witnessing the profound impact of mental health on overall wellness, I transitioned into the behavioral health space, working for a national organization. In this role, I leveraged my healthcare background to bridge gaps in care and improve service delivery across multidisciplinary teams. I also bring experience in business development and strategic marketing, where I helped organizations expand their reach, increase revenue, and strengthen their brand—all while staying rooted in ethical, client-centered practices.

With a solution-focused approach, I aim to identify practical and effective strategies to address complex mental health challenges. My mission is to combine my healthcare background, personal experiences, and social work training to foster therapeutic relationships that promote healing and resilience—particularly for individuals who too often slip through the cracks.
